I have been watching tutorials on youtube, and attempting to follow directions and do what they do to learn different techniques until I develop my own.... I will post different trials as I experiment....

This is really amazing, and I'm sure it will mean so much to her. I keep looking at the gown...you did a fantastic job with tones and the detailing is perfect.
Thank you Jane. Thanks to the youtube tutorials..... They showed me how to change the color on the dress, then after I did that, I painted the detail looking at the gown photo that was sent to me. I am pretty happy with the result. I hope they like it....

I found this website, too. It helps you to figure out the sizing and that PPI/ DPI stuff....
Good for you! It is beautiful.
Thank you, F. I really enjoyed painting this, and made me realize that I need to get back to it, for my ownself....
It really is lovely, Kyoko!
And I know what you mean.... I forget how happy it makes me to do some artwork until I dive back into it and it fills my heart with joy.
Beautiful! Did you do this in Painter? If yes...what brush did you use for the hair....that's where I have my biggest problem with portraits.
Yes, Jane. It is with Corel Painter. I watched some tutorials on Youtube and one lady was using "smeary round". But somehow, it did not work for me the way I like, and I had problem with it. I used "Bristle Medium" or "Medium Bristle" ( I forgot exactly which was the correct name ) and I used that for pretty much for the whole thing except for some artist brushes for the beginning phase. For the fly away hairs, I used the same brush ( Medium Bristle ) but in the tiny tiny sizes like 2.
Thanks, Kyoko....I'm going to go look up that brush. For me hair is a HUGE challenge.
