I decided to start a new discussion for sharing my work because I'm now using lots of media other than just digital.  I'm still working digitally, but I'm printing and then adding pastel, oil or even watercolor.  Right now I'm taking a pastel class....sometimes I "paint" on a blank canvas or other times I'll use pastel brushes in Painter, print, and then go over the image with real pastels.  It's so much fun.  Here's a still life that I just did....I'll print...and go over it again with pastels.

Thanks so much, Lynda.  This "Year of Painting" class is on line.

I should check it out.  I have taken all the digital art classes offered at the local junior college and still feel like a beginner - no, I AM a beginner.

Lynda, this class is not much digital art....it's mixed media and I think mostly acrylic.  I'm thinking it will be a real nice change.

Jane, your works of art are beautiful and would definitely brighten any room.

Thank you Donna!

Very pretty.

I need help.  I have used photo programs for years.  I loved Microsoft Digital Imaging (PC down at the moment).  I think I have trouble with Adobe PSE v.9 because I want it to be like MDI.  I have trouble with layers oh and printing.  When I crop a picture it crops the canvas.  When I print it only gives me the option of plain paper not premium.  I have a new printer so I am trying to MAKE myself get used to Adobe.  Microsoft was intuitive but Adobe not so much.  Help teach this dog new tricks.  Have a great day and holiday season.  I hope to get my annual card done before Christmas.

Susan, have you taken a Photoshop Elements online class?  I could not have learned it by myself....I really needed that class.

In a lot of ways it is similar to Microsoft Digital Imaging.  You worked in layers there but it was seamless.  My problems seems to when I want to crop one picture it crops the canvas.  The second problem is it didn't give me the option of printing on glossy paper.  I have a fault where I like to get in there and get my hands dirty and this isn't as intuitive as other programs.  I can follow most of it because I have used a lot of software.  Anyway, want to use to edit photos this Christmas and I WILL figure it out.  Thanks.  I have looked at some of the info online.

This one is kind of a departure from what I usually paint, but it was really fun.

I like it!!!

Thanks Susan.
