Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We have a Nephew that is currently Deployed to Afghanistan. While they are gone the FRG (Spouses Support Group) is doing a little support from Home. They are logging miles walked while the Troops are gone and are trying to get as many miles walked as it is to Kuwait and Afghanistan which is where the Troops deployed to. Over 14,000 miles are needed before they return at the end of the year. If anyone here is interested in participating I was thinking we could have a DoodleKisses Group. You would just need to turn in your miles (weekly or monthly) to an e-mail address that I will post and then you would just tell them you are a part of the DoodleKisses Group. Here is how it works:
1) Anyone is eligible to participate. It doesn't have to be family or friend of the troops. Just those who wish to support them while they are deployed.
2) Your Doodles miles count as well. So you go for a one mile walk with your doodle, that is 2 miles to be turned in. Walk two doodles it is 3 miles.
3) Running counts as well
4) Gym workouts count to: 30 min fitness class or work out is 1 mile
So, if it looks like enough people are interested I'll contact them to set up a group for us, then I'll post the e-mail. If it doesn't look like there is enough interest, then I can always get the e-mail to those who want to just participate on their own.
There is a FB page if you want to check it out: Run/Walk to Kuwait & Afghanistan.
Let me know what you think. We can get healthy, spend time with our Doodles, and Support Our Troops all at the same time.

Looks like we have some interest so I have notified them that we are setting up a little group to support the Troops. All you have to do is log your miles each week and then send an e-mail to:
3rdESCwalk@gmail.com in the subject line just put "DoodleKisses For the Troops" so they will know you are a part of our group. If you are on FB and you want you can add a picture of you and your doodle(s) or just your doodles and let them know you are supporting them.

Not to late at all. Just turn in your miles at your convenience. Thanks for the support. Remember to count the doodles too!
To all of you who support this effort I wanted to say thank you. As of early Saturday morning Adam arrived home from Afghanistan safe and sound. I appreciate everyone's support of this effort. Mike and I along with Lucy and AnnaBelle were able to contribute 1909 miles. I'm sure they will be sending out a final tally of all the miles walked. Once again, thank you.
So glad to hear that Adam is safe and at home.
