I decided to start a new discussion for sharing my work because I'm now using lots of media other than just digital.  I'm still working digitally, but I'm printing and then adding pastel, oil or even watercolor.  Right now I'm taking a pastel class....sometimes I "paint" on a blank canvas or other times I'll use pastel brushes in Painter, print, and then go over the image with real pastels.  It's so much fun.  Here's a still life that I just did....I'll print...and go over it again with pastels.

Very different for you. It captures the craziness I sometimes feel in the city.

It really is different for me, F.  I'm kind of "all over the place" right now....as I learn new things I keep experimenting.

Good for you!

Love it!  Great use of a dark photo.  The Times Square and HM signs really let you know the location.

Thanks Lynda!

F said it perfectly! Very nice, Jane.

Thank you DJ.

How fun!!! :) I spent the whole weekend playing around in Corel Painter 2015, exploring the brushes and making folders of my favorites. It's such an amazing program!

I think so too, Linda.  I just finished making 15 variations of the same brush.  It is really awesome how you can start with one brush and by "playing with it" you can get so many different strokes and effects.  I love this software!

I have Corel Painter 15 on my computer to try it out for a month and haven't really gotten around to it.  Shame on me.  I have been working on a lot of photos of Laila and doing them in different modes for my Art Share.  I was working on a pillow today (photo printed on cotton).  I also made a poster with that same photo of Laila.  I think that dog will be famous after all the playing around I have done with the photo.  This was a photo taken by Sangeeta Day and then the photo was given an artistic filter and photo edges selected.  I like it a lot better with this filter and it is working well for needlepoint.

I was experimenting with my new printer and didn't like how some of the prints turned out.  I either had the setting wrong or sometimes part of my son's chin wasn't shown.  Anyway, they would be good to play with.  What is the easiest medium to try on photo's?

I'm not sure exactly what your question is, Susan.  When I think of mediums I think of oils or acrylics.  I do use different mediums on top of canvas that I have printed to give me texture and then I add paint for highlights.  Is that what you mean?
