Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
A couple weeks ago, a publisher contacted me about a copy of a darling children's book about a labradoodle named Mogie who "works" for a Ronald McDonald House, helping kids get their "mojo" back. The book is intended for children 4-8 years old and since I have one of those in my house, I thought it would be perfect. My copy arrived yesterday.
And for this important photo opp, Rosco even got some couch time ;)
It really is a sweet story and illustrates, Mogie, a natural therapy dog, doing what he does best with several children who needed uplifting. Although Mogie's breed is not mentioned in the book, it is based on a real Mogie who happens to be an Australian labradoodle and really works for a Ronald McDonald House.

Love it!! It looks like Eva and Ned are real buddies!
They are adorable together.
So cute!
What a great idea. Hmmmm....I will have to think about a story!
I was walking Sundog and stopped at a neighbor's house to chat. They had a toddler who just fell in love with Sundog. She liked throwing rocks for her to chase. Anyway, as the adults got a bit busy chatting, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the little girl and Sundog just started to wander down the street. (A very safe non-busy street.) I think they had just set out on an adventure and Sundog was going to watch after the little girl. I told the parents that we should get both of our girls before they got too far on their adventure.
This would be a great book to read to my first graders.
Here is my "favorite" doodle-kid story. Our neighbor got a wagon for Christmas when he was 1. Bodi really didn't like this boy because he often grabbed a handful of hair and pulled it out! Bodi never hurt him, but began to hide when he was around. Back to the wagon. Here comes Lucas toddling behind the wagon. Here comes Bodi who went to the wagon and lifted his leg. Very embarrassed mom here. I ran for the Clorox wipes!!
I happy to enter, but I see Sue's picture is a true WINNER!
The first Thanksgiving the cousins got together after years of not seeing each other Tia had her first encounter with a little child. My cousin's grand son about 2 years old could not leave Tia alone. One time when Tia was in a sit stay, and we were busy talking, the little boy came up to Tia and gave her a hug. We all held our breath because Tia has never been around little children. Tia looked at the little boy and gave him a sweet kiss on the nose. We all relaxed and Tia won the hearts of my cousins and aunt and uncle and of course the little boy. What a great Thanksgiving!!
Looks like a great book!
Our neighbors Granddaughter visits them each weekend. If we are gone for a full day She helps her Grandma let Trixie out for us. She talks non stop about Trixie when she is not visiting next door. Once we had our Granddog here too . Him & Trixie were outside & the Granddaughter was watching the 2 dogs from her window. The 2 dogs get along great. It looked like the Granddog bit Trixies butt ... She told us right away that that other dog is mean to her Trixie & we should get rid of him! :)
Trixie is so good with kids. We bring her to lots of outdoor music shows in the summer. All the kids always come & pet her...Some even remember her from previous years & will yell out "theres Trixie"
I am going to be a Grandma this January, I cant wait for my Grandson to spend time with Trixie
My son had a stroke at birth and we knew we wanted to have a companion dog for him. Maybe one day even a service dog like Mogie. Our goldendoodle Leo is 7 months old now Cameron and his brother do everything together. Leo goes to classes each week to become closer to be becoming a service dog for Cameron. Cameron has epilepsy and Leo is always there by his side. One day Cameron was not feeling well. Leo stayed by his side the whole day. Cameron said "my puppy Leo is a special puppy just for me." It is a bond so sweet to see. Here are pictures of Leo and Cameron.
