Quincy is now 2.5 years and has never been much of a counter surfer (at least not that we have seen!) He did snag his cream cheese Kongs once or twice (meant for when I leave) while I was in the shower, but I always figured he knew they were really his. When I leave for work, I take a look at what is on the counter so he is not tempted while we are at work. Yesterday, he knocked over my DH's forgotten sunglass case and when he came home, it was on the floor--empty! When I got in, we started the search. As expected, he had carried them off to his favorite perch on the chair where he always carries his "catch" and they were buried under the big pillow. Strange! Could not have been a very satisfying chew. Thankfully he did not destroy these prescription, pricey glasses!
Happy New Year all!

They smell like your DH, that's why Quincy wanted them. He isn't being naughty!
Yep, that would be my guess as well.
JD has never counter surfed and never chewed up anything, but when he was younger and I was working, I would often come home to find one of my slippers or shoes on his bed, unharmed. He just wanted to snuggle with something that smelled like me. :)
I will! :)
I guess that is what I found odd, that glass and plastic would retain a smell. Who knows what goes on during that long day at home, waiting for mom and dad to reappear ! We often find his blanket dragged from another room, the pillows from the couch totally askew, and the throw pillows all over the floor. Party on!
I would have thought he would go after the bag of Kibble his dad left on the table nearby before the glasses! We just laughed, btw. He can do no wrong, it seems! My DH is totally under his spell and I suppose I am, too!
Maybe Quincy is trying to tell you he needs glasses? :)
and sunglasses, no less!
I actually think it's kind of sweet that he has a special place for his treasures. Happy New Year!
There is not much he does that is not sweet! this, I thought, was just odd! and Happy New Year to you, Jane and your sweet babies!
This is why I love these pups so much, it is very hard to be cross with them.
Riley often has a stash under his mat in his crate. I have found knickers and a bra, slippers, shoes and a book I was reading. He doesn't chew them, they are just there. When he was a puppy he did destroy a very expensive pair of glasses though...and a pair of Gucci shoes!
I have found more half chewed bully sticks under the couch cushions than I can count. We do close off the laundry room or I think half of it would be stashed - too funny.
