Hello,

I'm getting my new goldendoodle puppy in two months and it's my first pet . I'm quite nervous . My breeder tells me that the puppy is gonna come with vaccination records and goes through a health check up before he comes home with me. Should I still go to the vet after I pick him up and wait for the next round of shots to see my vet ?

I like to go to the vet as soon as I get my new puppy. This way the first visit includes lots of petting and fuss and no shots! First impressions count! It may also be necessary for any insurance or for any health assurance from your breeder to be valid.

Yes, thats what she said about the insurance part--they need to get checked up to have the insurance to be valid. Thanks Katie!

I would take him to the vet immediately.  Lots of reasons to do that.  Goldendoodle puppies are the greatest!  Have fun.

I vote for seeing your vet within a few days. I think a lot of breeders actually insist you take your
Puppy to your vet within a few days of bringing them home. Ours did.
Good luck with your new boy

I would take it to the vet within the first day or so.  It is sort of a getting acquainted meeting.  Bring the records you have with you and the vet can note what shots have been given and when the next ones are due.
