Not trying to be gross or uncoulth, but that's the problem in a nutshell.
She goes out, and tries, and when she comes in there is some poo left on her hiney.
It's not hard, but she did have some "dingleberries" that I cleaned and cut a couple off.
I gave her aobut 2 TBS of pumpkin earlier this evening, read that it would help.
She is eating fine, drinking fine.
I'm sorry if I sound crude, but it's the easiest way to describe it.
In other words, she seems to have trouble defacating, when she does, there is soft fecal matter left on her anus. I tried to clean her up and there was some hardend fecal matter that I was able to cut off.
Will the pumpkin help?
Thanks for any help.

The pumpkin may help. I'd give her 2 tablespoons twice a day.
How old is she? Have there been any changes in her diet recently?
It's a good idea to keep the hair trimmed back there to prevent poop from sticking.
She's a little over 3, born in April.
I shared some ice cream with her, was that bad? She loved it. I wonder if that did it.
She was really good about me cleaning her up, it was like she appreciated it. At first she was kind of skittish about me being back there, but then let me lift her tail and I used people wipes.
I hope I don't sound gross, but she is such a good girl and looked so uncomfortable trying to go.
I gave her a couple of TBS this evening and will give her more tomorrow.
Will olive oil in her food help>

The ice cream was probably not a good idea, some dogs have trouble with dairy product.
Olive oil is not beneficial for dogs, and it's doubtful that any fats or oils would help in this case. It doesn't sound like constipation, as that usually produces stool that is dry and hard. This sounds more like the stool isn't dry or firm enough.
I'd avoid giving her anything other than her regular food with some pumpkin for a couple of days.
I would give her a little pumpkin for a few days.
You are a good doodle mommy for cleaning her up! It's not too much, it's just taking care of her as she needed a little extra help.
I've also given my 7 m/o ADL a small scoop of pumpkin on occasion and it works wonders. Aside from yogurt, I'd not give her any dairy products esp. something rich in cream.
Don't worry about asking questions such as these!
