Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Finally! Going to get a discussion started with good (and safe) dog treats!
As a reminder, any treats made from a company listed in our Recommended Foods list will work, so I am not going to list them here. Visit this link for those brands: http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/thefoodgroup/forum/topics/recomme...

Thanks! My confusion was that the site was n-bone and the treat recommended was "Get Naked" but the site actually leads to a mother site with several 'brands' so I wasn't sure. Now that I know it is the Get Nakeds specifically....
I'd like to recommend the Best Bully Sticks treats. At bestbullysticks.com, you will find single ingredient treats under the Best Bully Sticks brand. I highly recommend those. My dogs have loved them and I really like the single ingredient concept for treats. I use the lamb lung treats and break them into small pieces for training treats. I also like the bully sticks, the green tripe sticks, the chicken feet, the chicken jerkey, and other treats that I have tried. They have an excellent variety. Also, I have found them to be a good bang for the buck.
Yes, we've had recommendations for Best Bully Sticks here before. I haven't added them to the list because like antlers, I think of them more as chew objects than "treats". But it is a good brand for those who use bully sticks.
Adina brought this company to my attention last night; looks very good to me, and we will be adding it to the list as soon as Allyson gets a free moment. With Baby Boy Yancey due in 9 days, that might be awhile, lol.
Polkadog Bakery added!
Wow, Ally, that was fast! Thank you!
Gail, "US made" or Made in USA" does not mean it's sourced in the US. Often, the package says Made in USA but the ingredients are from China. It is jerky from China that has been the problem.
I have not heard of any problem with True Chews, and they are not on the FDA's list. I know that it is sourced in the US.
Well, that's unfortunate, to say the least. If human grade, U.S. sourced ingredients are still a problem for some dogs, I don't know what we can give our dogs any more. I hope they get to the source of this dog's problem.
