As I was brushing my pups teeth I noticed this same tooth on both sides were looking weird and had this blacking like line which seems to be like a crack since when I rub it with my finger my nail catches in it !  Cavity possibly ?!   Anyone elses doodle pup experience this and if so what was the turn out?

P.S. Our dog eats no wet food and exclusively eats Taste of the wild dog food.sively eats Taste of the wild dog food.

I think it may be tartar at the junction of where the enamel ends.

I agree, it looks like tartar to me.  My guys get it there too....I scrape it off with my finger nails.  I know that probably sounds strange, but with my boys it does break off.  If I can't get it all I bring them for a vet tech visit and she gets it off with her scraping tool.  You don't want it to stay there...it will cause problems.

Does your cog have that crack there?  I can almost get my nail in it :/ ....I will do my best to scrape it ! I believed the whole bone and dry dog food myth :(.

My guys don't have that crack because I scrape it off before it gets to that.   They won't tolerate a regular toothbrush so I use a spray-on with gauze pads...and my finger nails to clean their teeth.

It looks like tartar.

That's tartar. You may want to start brushing his teeth. His food has nothing to do with it, tartar builds up whether you feed wet food or dry food; years ago it was thought that feeding dry food would help prevent it, but that has been proven to be false.

Okay ...What kind of tooth brush do you all use...I will pick one up at walmart asap!

The pet supply stores are probably a better option than Walmart; they usually have different kits with toothpaste, brushes, and these nubbed things that fit over your finger so you can use your finger as a brush.

This is nice maybe I can order on Amazon ! Any kits you all suggest I can get online or on amazon.com?

Definitely tarter. I had an old vet who could pop a sheathing of tarter off with his fingernail! It was a pretty impressive move! He did it on both my older cats and dogs.

My vet pops it off Tara's teeth and off my cat's teeth too! It really is impressive.
