Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Sunday was one of those rare winter days when the sun was out and temps in the low 50's. After lunch we headed off to the park an hour away from home.
As soon as we got in the park we met a beautiful white Goldendoodle named Heidi. Of course I told her humans all about DK and invited them.
One gray muzzled dog walking off leash gave Haley wide berth. I guess she had a bad experience at one time.
When we were walking in a wooded area a squirrel paused on one side of the trail and then scampered across in front of and not 4 feet from Haley who had no reaction what so ever to the rodent. I guess I don't have a squirrel doodle.
I know there are a lot of doodles (and other dogs) who will take off after a squirrel. How many of you have a doodle unaffected by squirrels?

I'm glad Haley didn't show interest in this one. He was wearing a Gentle Leader but even with it I don't know if Otis (my DH) could have kept him under control.
My two are definitely squirrel chasers :) Great picture of Haley!
Thanks Laurie.
Love the picture, such a beautiful dude. Max loves squirrels and does the circle dance when he sees them.
Thank you Julie.
I think Haley is trying to emulate JD's good conduct.
My two are very affected by squirrels, and go on alert outside the second they hear a noise or rustling. Security Chief Eloise watches from inside, too, and notifies me loudly whenever they breach the perimeter. We have to spell "squirrel" and can't call her squirrel toys "squirrels" (chipmunks and varmints are their pseudonyms). Ridiculous!
Oh my! I hope you don't have too many squirrels varmints.
We have so many squirrels right in our backyard that Marabelle just thinks they're playmates. She usually plays with them and they seem to be playing with her, they've even gotten nose to nose checking each other out. When she is resting they'll walk right by her, knowing she's not in the mood to play.
Sound like a nice coexistence. Love the picture.
