Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi everyone!

Just thought I'd introduce myself although I've been lurking for MONTHS...since October when we were placed on a wait list for a brown male F1B standard goldendoodle.

Well, the pups were born Super Bowl Sunday.  5 girls and 2 boys.  The breeder tells me both boys will be curly.  Love your thoughts and comparisons with your pup.  We have first pick.  If the wait list isn't full, I could possibly go with a girl.   PRESSURE.

I'm trying not to fall in love with either but wait until we get there and watch how they interact with their brothers and sisters, listen to what the breeder has to say about personalities, etc. etc.

It's early to ask what you think about their coats so I'll just say hi and post pics as I get them!

REALLY excited to be here!!

OK everyone, meet Henly.  (I hope I posted the pics right.)

We had a bunch of names picked out, mostly gender neutral kind of names. When we decided we'd get a boy, none of the names on the list made the cut. We went with Ace ( we have volleyball and tennis players in our household). :-)

Welcome to DoodleKisses - the best website around for doodle lovers everywhere.  My favorite dog ever was a brown labradoodle so I guess you could say I am partial to these brown babies.  I think the F1b goldendoodles are super also and I had one (phantom coloring) who had the most wonderful coat.  It was so easy to manage.  You will love this pup, whatever you end up with.  Enjoy!

Thank you!

They are all adorable.  I equate curly with higher maintenance coat - more matting, less shedding, more grooming.  This is only MY experience. The doodles I have met with wavy coats have much easier maintenance in regards to matting.

Oh now that's something to consider.
Thanks!

I agree.  Skadi is wavy and hardly ever mats.  Still have to comb her out.  Henley is a very cute name!  Are you getting the solid color or the 2 colors?  They are adorable!

Joani I'm not sure which one I'm going to pick.  We have first pick and there are only 2 males.  I'm a little concerned about the curly coat and wondering if I should go with a staighter coat female.  Of course, I'll have to learn more about their personalities.  I'd really like a "middle-of-the-pack" kinda puppy.  Not too pushy, not too much of a pushover.

Oh such fun!

Very much fun.  I didn't get Skadi as a puppy, she was almost 4 months old when our kids gave her to us.  So enjoy that puppyhood...altho very challenging they are so worth it...and take lots and lots of pictures...so surprising how fast they grow and change.  IMHO I think girl dogs are the best!
