Nepal Street Images

I thought some of you might enjoy a peak at Nepal through the images below.  In the short time I had for photography, I focused mostly on candid "street shots."  Unfortunately overcast skies kept the beautiful mountains and landscapes of Nepal out of view.

Those are amazing photos!  I really like how you positioned yourself and the camera to get great perspectives on these photos too.  Very inspirational. :-)

Thank you, Kathy. I shot with a long lens in an effort to get natural and candid shots. I missed quite a few by framing too closely to feet and figures and then having to straighten the image in post production.

I showed the street vehicle to Otis he said the front was a one lung (for cylinder) tractor.

Thanks, Anne and also tell Otis thanks for recognizing a part of the street vehicle. I thought it was assembled from parts of others vehicles and I think Otis may have confirmed that!

We had a David Bradley (one lung) tractor which Otis worked our garden with.  It was 2 wheeled and had a plow, disc and harrow.  I think they were the predecessor to today's garden tiller.

These are wonderful photos, thanks for posting.  Did you color enhance them in any way?  So vibrant.  What type of camera are you using?  If I used the same camera would my photos be great too?  just kidding :-) I'm a novice

Thanks, Joyce. I use a Nikon d750 and shoot in camera raw, which means that all my images initially come out somewhat bland and need post processing. But I didn't add a great deal of vibrancy or saturation to any of them--the village where I took these was amazingly colorful!

Thanks DJ for this info.  I have been gradually exploring cameras knowing that I need better quality photos for my website and FB page, just stalled on the decision.  So, still gathering info and appreciate your telling me about your camera.   I think this one may be out of my league; perhaps something to grow into!

Thank you DJ . Your gems took me on an imaginary trip which I believe is the only way I will get to Nepal. Life is so different there as the laundry woman reminded me. But then they don't need to make time for TV and photography and all that sort of thing. Each photo is perfect!
