Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

As a breeder, I get asked this quite frequently. I always say, "You bet!" Even better, now I can show them how young doodles are when they can. :o) I'm pretty new here and have no idea how to place this on the video page, but I can give you a link to watch it. If someone can tell me which code to use, I'll put it in the right place. Thanks!

This is our F1b mini, future mama of F3 goldendoodles. Currently a spoiled rotten, sweet as can be puppy!

I can't see the video here at work...but I'll be sure to tune in when I get home. To add a video to the video section copy the "Embed" code of your video and paste it into the empty box where it says "embed code".

My two doodles LOOOVE swimming -- you'll see pics of Rosco's first swim of the season on my page =)
THANK YOU! I finally figured it out! Gee, I'll become computer savvy sooner or later. :o)
WOW, that does seem young....cute!
"You bet???" My Ozzie hates water like the devil hates holy water!!! I know several doodles who don't want to have anything to do with water, pools, lakes, ocean, you name it. If you don't want to disappoint an owner who wants a swimming doggie, I would say "some do, some don't" because that more closely reflects the real situation.
Yes, If a dog isn't exposed consistently to swimming at a young age, they can hate it. I guess what I should have said is that with patients and exposure they will enjoy the water. My daughter plays with our pups in the bathtub and "teaches" them to swim in there before they leave. IF the families keep it up, they can love the water. Labs, Golden's & Poodles are water dogs, so I think many/most do enjoy it. At least that what my families tell me.....
I wonder if instinct has anything to do with it because last week Prada fell into our swimming pool, she swam to me to fish her out but because it's so cold here at the moment she went into shock even though I dried her straight afterwards. Anyway, I rushed her to the vet where they kept an eye on her (warmed her and made sure there was no water in her lungs etc.) for the day. The experience hasn't put her off water or the pool at all. Whenever we take her outside she looks like she wants to jump in. In Summer we will let her swim so we can show her how to get out.
Finally saw it! So cute...she looks like a furry windup toy!
That is the cutest thing EVER! Since I got Stella in Jan. and the only local water was at a park I had to resort to testing her out in the tub, I would fill the it up as far as I could to see if she would swim in it. Today at 8 mos. old she LOVES it. I have been taking her down to the nearby lake and to the river. I think it helped to have a buddy who knew the ropes show her how it's done. I was thankful she liked the water so much. I have always wanted a dog to take to the lake and play in it.
The last time we went camping we took Rosco "creeking" with us. He enjoyed splashing around and playing with our neice and nephew. It wasn't deep enough to really swim in but he did walk through the deepest part. This weekend we are going camping and they have a DOG BEACH! I can't wait to see how he does! This will be his first time really swimming. Gonna try to remember to take some pics!! :D
Great Video!
OMG...
find a puddle and Jonah will try and swim in it!

Wilson LOVES to swim. He loves bobbing for rocks, too!

I took this photo earlier this month when we went to Barton Creek. He had a ball.
