This came to me this morning and it has so many possibilities. For those who edit it could be the images used in a composite photo and then the photo. Or the color and black and white image. Or out of the camera and edited version. It could be ingredients in a recipe and the finished dish. A puppy or child grown up. Well, you get the idea.

Truffle is gorgeous. What a beautiful dog Truffle has grown to be :)

After

1 of eight "before"

This is actually a focus stack--a composite of eight images with slightly different focal points, layered and blended together with photomerge in photoshop. The idea was to get the entire blossom in focus, and I didn't quite get there but had fun trying!

This is a Japanese Maple blossom.  My tree started to bud out a few days ago.

What a grand project, great "after. You  did a terrific job!!! Love the light shining through the opening leaf.

Thanks, F.  This is such a great assignment, and I've been slacking.

How lovely! I love the texture of blossom!

These trees are wonderful and the lovely blossoms are one of the reasons why!
WOW DJ! This does take macro to a new level. Did you use a smartphone/tablet app for t focusing?
thanks, Anne. I did this manually and clearly missed on the back half of the second bud-- is there an app that can help me with the focusing? This is a tiny, tiny bud.

Yes,  It's called Helicon Remote.  Here is a link to their website.

I just watched the video---amazing technology.  Do you use this and their stacking software?  Do you use a macro rail?  Sorry for all the questions but you are clearly our resident macro expert :)
