How high does the fence need to be?

We're thinking about putting up a fence this spring.  This being my first doodle experience, and with Dagny only being seven months old, I have no idea how athletic these dogs get.  Soooo, how high must my fence be?  I'm really hoping to avoid the full sized privacy fence so that I can still see my neighbors and neighborhood.  Any suggestions?  Thank you :)

For sure training is always number one. I think the recall was one of the first exercise we did with our trainer. So yes Cooper does come when called.

To answer the question about what happens if he crosses the fence and doesn't want to come back being "scared" of getting a static correction again when crossing back...there is different systems out there...ours has a sound correction first , then static if he crosses the fence and it doesn't stop until he comes back in...

I do agree that you know your dog best and you know what type of training works.

Don't worry there is different levels of adjustment!
