The arrival of our second doodle will be next week. Our current dog is 5 years old. Any suggestions on introductions and whether to separate the two? The new puppy is a girl and is 9 weeks old. Max has been a only dog since he was 6 months old (we lost our older dog then) but he gets along will all other dogs and doesn't show any aggression. He plays with neighborhood dogs and they share toys. A little nervous on how this is going to go as we want to assure Max gets the same amount of attention. Thanks for helping.

I would introduce them on neutral ground - out front if possible, and see how the first intro. goes.  I wouldn't leave them alone together until you are positive that they will get along and one not bug the other too much.  If you are crating the puppy, that gives the separation you need.    One thing I really wish I had done was to leave the puppy home alone sometimes and take the older dog out.  I did the reverse - which is also important, but totally forgot that the puppy needed to learn to be home alone too.

Thanks for the reply.... Hope it goes well...

Keep us posted. Most dogs accept puppies.
