Thanks everyone for the responses it really gave me a lot to think about before I make my decision sorry to here about your experience Stella have u tried a good trainer to come in and work with the two it might help u out in such a stressful situation I hope things get better for u I didn't think it was possible for there to be any behaviour problems with doodles everyone I have ever met has been just lovable and amazing but I guess that it can happen with every breed good to know that the next one just might not be like my Reggie thanks...
Lynnie, I have done everything! Chase, sadly, has issues that go beyond training. He has severe anxiety and other behavioural issues, he is actually on Prozac for it. The medication has definitely helped him, because now he can focus. Before he was ADHD dog! We go to obedience and manners classes to work on his behaviour around other dogs, and both dogs are competitive agility dogs, I have done all kinds of behavioural therapy work with him. He is what he is. The medication was the last resort, and thankfully it did help. I have found a way to make it work, and they both get to have time away from each other where they and I can have fun without either of them feeling the need to guard me or interrupt the other one. Chase is a bit of an extreme case, but I always recommend to people thinking of getting a second dog that they consider ahead of time what they will do if the dogs do not get along.

I have just added a second puppy to our home almost 2 weeks ago. I really wanted another dog and I also thought it would be good for my 3 yr old doodle so she would have some company when we aren't home. So we got a 4 1/ 2 month old whoodle (wheaton terrier/poodle) At first my older one Josie didn't seem to like Piper and wouldn't let her near her. Now a week later they are playing. It is so good to watch, and I can only think that they will get closer yet. Piper follows Josie every where.

I was surprised though how many people have asked me why we got another dog. I didn't think it was that out of the ordinary, though most of the people I know only have one. There have been times that I've asked myself if I've done the right thing, every thing was so peaceful and easy. Now I am doing the house training again and it's busy and stressful. I keep telling myself it will be easy again soon and that I can't see life without 2 dogs.
