Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi, I'm new to DK and just brought home my new puppy, Colby, a week ago. I've found DK to be an invaluable resource so far! Colby came home at 8 weeks with a UTI, and she's now on amoxicillin for ten days. I've been giving her a probiotic from Petco since Friday (before she was diagnosed ), but I've read here that Proviable DC is one of the recommended ones, so I ordered it on Amazon because my vet doesn't carry it (and I can't find a Chicago vet who does carry it) and it will arrive tomorrow.
My concern is that because it's summer, the shipment won't be kept at the proper temperature. Is there a recommended place to order the product where I know it will be kept at the right termperature? (or am I just being an obsessive, worrying new puppy mom?)
Also, I think I should post this in the health group, but I'm not sure how to post it there!

Ok, thanks!
It's my understanding that Proviable doesn't have to be refrigerated. Of course, that doesn't mean it's great for it to be kept in sweltering temperatures, either. But a lot of members here have been ordering it on-line, I know. Hopefully some of them will chime in with sources.
Most vets will order it for you if you ask, even though they may not carry it.
Be sure to give probiotics of any kind at least 2 hours apart from the antibiotics, and longer is better.
No need to post this in the Health group too, but for future reference, to post in a group, you go to the Discussion section of that group, scroll down to the end of the section, and on the right side, just above the "Comments" section, you'll see the words "Add a Discussion".
Thank you for the info!
I made a mistake there, it's the left hand side just above the "Comments" section where you find the "Add a Discussion", lol.
Good idea! Thanks!
