Has anyone heard of Effitix for flea and tick prevention?

Hi Everyone,

I took Cooper into the vet yesterday for a weight check so we could get more frontline plus.  My vet informed me that they switched over to Effitix.  I bought it, applied it, and it seems fine but I can't seem to find a whole lot about it online.  What I did find though was that I could get both Effitix and Frontline Plus online for way cheaper than my vet's office.

Two questions:

1) Has anyone heard of or used Effitix?

2) Would there be any issue with buying either frontline plus or effitix online (amazon etc)?

I have never heard of it. Some people on DK worry about buying melds on line but I use 1-800 Pet Meds.

You can ask if your vet does a price match. Mine prefers to match over giving out an Rx.

I haven't heard of Effitix before. Does the packaging say who makes it, or where it is made?

There is a lot of counterfeit flea & tick product out there, we've had discussions about this here before, if you do a search. 

That worries me enough to spend the few extra dollars to get it from the vet, but that's me. 

The manufacturer's warranty is not valid if you buy the products anywhere but from your vet.

I looked up the Effitix, it's made by Virbac, which is a good company.

One thing I like about this is that the solvent sounds a lot safer than the toluene used in Frontline.
