My husband and I would like to take Morgan with us on a vacation. She will be about 4 months old when we go. We are driving to our destination and staying in a dog friendly hotel. Do you think a puppy can walk about a mile at that age? We want to visit an old railroad bridge that extends out the side of a mountain. It is in a park. How much activity can a four month old puppy have. I will bring my crate and bells.

I did mine about a mile when she was about 4 months and now she is 19 mos and we walk about 3 1/2 miles each day. Enjoy the trip
My 5 month old puppy can and I recently took him hiking. He had to stop and sniff so it took longer but he was definitely able to do it without any problems. I've been walking him about a mile since he was 3 ish months. Maybe try taking your puppy on longer walks before you go as a sort of training.

Thanks for the help Lena

Hello! My dood is around 4 months right now and I recently tested the boundaries of his walking ability. My plan was to walk about 1.5 miles, cool off a bit in the water and take a break (it was a fairly hot day for us), then walk back. He did great but around 1 mile he "plopped" down in the shade and required about a 10 minute break for water and rest. Same deal on the walk back he wanted a break after about a mile. My guess is that it depends on how active he usually is.

Thanks for the reply.. She is very active so I guess I will give it a try.

Good luck!!! You will do great.
