puppy trying to hack up a firball

All day lolly has been making hacking sounds followed by little vomits of water.  I think it may be some fuzz from a tennis ball.  I have seen a couple of pieces of red from the ball in her attempt to cough it up.  Is this something that will resolve itself or not ?  When she is running around it is much worse.  She has not thrown up any food, just water.

I am also wondering if her trachea was scratche rom when she hdher Penn Hip tst last week?

Oh no, sorry to hear Lolly is having this issue. I remember a friend called the vet when her dog had a burr stuck in his throat, and they advised to feed the dog pieces of bread in an effort to move it along. It worked for them. I'd post this in the health and medical issues group so you get more responses, too... Good luck!!

I called the vet and they are pretty sure it is the fire smoke that is permeating the air in her lungs.  They didn't seem concerned so I will wait it out.
