Does anyone have experience with Seven Hills Retrievers in Sutter, IL? Looking for any info as we are looking at them for an F1 Goldendoodle.

Thanks

Thanks!  I guess I will need to look over that again, because I completely missed this.  And, also feel this is false advertising about their warranty, as it is not listed anywhere on their site.

Of greater importance is the genetic testing done on the breeding dogs. I saw nothing about that on the website, either. Here's my original response to this discussion, which is two years old:

Please read What to Look for in a Breeder and use it as a 'checklist" for any breeder you are considering.  It also has links to the Owner recommended Breeders group as well as the various Puppies for sale groups.

Most important is genetic health testing of the breeding dogs. I do not see any mention of that on the website of the breeder you asked about.

As a general rule of thumb, when a breeder has ads on sites like "Puppy Find" and "Next Day Pets", that's a sign of a BYB or puppy mill; not a good thing. Google the phone number and if you get lots of ad listings for puppies, I would move on.

And just in case you doubt that the breeder is profiting from selling the food, here's his listing as an Independent Field Representative for the company: http://www.lifesabundance.com/General/ContactUsRep2.aspx?realname=2...

I agree with you, Melissa, about weighing out our options; I don't see it as deal breaker. Though, I do feel it's a little shady to not make that more clear. I feel like every breeder that has everything on that list is asking around $2500 for a pup, and that's just not an option for us.
You're right. Good luck with your decision. I'm not pro seven hills, but I'm not against them either.

On one hand, I have a great, non-shedding, well-tempered, healthy Goldendoodle that didn't cost as much as the other breeders.

On the other hand, my dog is much bigger than they told us, the breeder communication wasn't great and I voided my warranty.

In the end, I feel I'm ahead and have mostly forgotten all about the initial experience. I can switch food if I choose but it's working well for us and our dog is a joy.

Again, best of luck in your search.
