Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Welcome to puppy madness! I think it would be a great idea to all post a little about yourself and your doodle. Photos are ALWAYS welcome.

Thinks you might want to share:

1) Your Name/Doodle Name

2) Location

3) Doodle type (goldendoodle/labradoodle; mini/standard; F1/F2)

4) Doodle age/weight

5) Photo

6) Anything else

Would also be great to come back here as your doodle ages to respond to your comment and post updates for age/weight/photos etc.

6) Piper is 13 weeks now and is settling in. She plays with our kittens--she uses one of them as a chew toy--which he seems to love, as he always comes back for more! Toilet training is a work in progress: she has peed in the house less than half a dozen times in the 5 weeks that we've had her (all our fault, as it could have been prevented), in large part because I take her out so frequently (about every 30-45min when awake and walking around/playing). Pooping is a different story: she poops outside following meals, but then poops in the house when not expected. I'll need to register her for puppy classes, which start on Oct-29, but she knows "sit" and "down" and "come". She loves to chew on bully sticks--and empty toilet paper rolls!
Piper has been doing some mouthing/nipping or growlingoccasionally and I've been trying to work with her on that--I know that there are several postings about these issues here that I need to read!

Hi,

I'm joining the group.  We have a new puppy - 8 weeks old and she has started to bite, which is scaring my 3 kids.  We need help, so I'm joining this group for support and in hopes of learning some good tips to remedy the situation and as fast as possible.

Welcome to DK. When you get a chance be sure to check out the groups section on the main page and join as many as you like.  Many new puppy owners join the Puppy Madness group and the grooming group.  There are over 300 groups so something for everyone!  You can also use the search up in the top right hand corner to find other discussion concerning puppies biting, etc.  Your Bailey is so darn cute.

Hurley is way past the biting stage but what I did was gently hold is mouth closed for a few seconds and firmly said 'no bite'.
I taught Hurley 'place' very early. So he had a place he was to go when he needed to calm down or had pushed my limits.

Check out the Puppy Madness group. There is an amazing amount of helpful info in that forum. All the forum have very helpful information.

That is the cutest picture of your pup. That is a keeper and a possible entry for the next doodle calendar competition.

Hi! My name is Cynthia, my husband is Sam and our Goldendoodle is Lambeau. We are in Fort Collins, CO and we got our guy when he was 8 weeks old. He is 15 weeks now and pushing 30 pounds. He is more poodle than golden (is that an F1B?) and I grew up with Golden's, so I am used to the fun loving dogs. Having a smart and dominant puppy is one of the hardest things my husband and I have ever done. We are here looking for some tips and social support!

Well you've come to the right place! Everyone here knows exactly what you're goin through at any given moment and the DK'ers are always there to offer support and advice. I always found it helpful to post discussions to get advice with my Angus - he's a very headstrong little bugger who we love to death, but who tries our patience constantly...furry little monster haha. Anyways! Welcome and feel free to start discussions to vent or get help!
