My mini ALD is almost six months old now. Twice in the last week he has peed in his water bowl. He received a new bed over the weekend and I just found pee on it. I thought potty training was going well. He rings the poochie bells when he needs to go. Prior to this, he usually has a three week cycle where he will be accident free. He is limited to being free to the family room/kitchen where we spend most of our time. He is in his crate if we can't watch him. Has anyone else experienced this?

He is awfully young for this, but it does sound a little like he's marking his territory and the water bowl and bed are what he considers territory.  I'd try washing the bowl thoroughly and moving it to a new spot to see what happens.  For a while you may have to pick up the water bowl and give him drinks throughout the day when you can watch him.  I'd say to have him checked for a UTI, but I think the accidents would not be limited to "his" things if that were the case.  Do you see him "mark" when you take him out to pee?  If you do, you may need to stop it.  My mini ALD has always tried to mark....trees, light poles, anywhere where he can smell another dog's urine....I actually stopped allowing that on-leash.

We have sectioned off part of our yard for his potty spot with little decorative border fencing. I do notice when he goes it is always along the edges of the border. He is still a squatter so it didn't even occur to me it could be marking. Next month he is old enough to be neutered so maybe that will curb some of this behavior. Thanks so much!

It definitely can still be marking even if they squat.  What he's doing around the perimeter of the area you have fenced for him sure does sound like marking.  Neutering didn't help my guy, but I've heard it does help curb this with some dogs.
