Puppy Cut...

Curious... Is there such a thing as having an older (read: not a puppy) Doodle have their coat
trimmed in a "puppy cut"? Thanks.

I am not truly sure what the term really means, but my groomer uses it to indicate a short yet still fluffy cut like an inch or inch and a half long and the same length all over the body. This is how we get Gavin done in the summer months.

Sure you can ask for a puppy cut for any age of doodle. But I think it is kind of a loose term and the definition may vary from groomer to groomer.  It might be good to take a photo of another doodle with the look you want to show to your groomer.

Sure, depending upon what you define as a puppy cut.  There really isn't any one way to cut a doodle, but in my idea of what a puppy cut is, that is what Ned has, but with doodle facial furnishings.  Ned's coat is very poodle-like - thick and stands up from his body. Our other doodle has the same cut as Ned, but it looks totally different because his coat is much straighter.

I always will think of Wynnie as a puppy. She now is two years old and she gets a puppy cut every 5 weeks. I like the cut because I can keep her from mating and easily comb her fur. I love the puppy cut.

Wynnie has a beautiful haircut. I took a screen shot of your profile picture. I have a couple pictures from this Site so I can show the groomer. I go back and forth with regards to getting her cut. I think I'm afraid I'll lose my little scruffy puppy; and she'll look too grown up. But her hair is getting quite long and wild. I think I'd better get her a haircut before she starts matting. For some reason, I just can't make the appointment...
