Hi Michele, are you talking about adopting from a rescue/shelter, or buying a puppy from a breeder?
How did you get your current dog?
Search Petfinder 2-3 times a week, using "Poodle" or "Standard Poodle" for the breed.
Have you filled out an application with Doodle Rescue Collective?
Here is a link to the Doodle Rescue Collective Site: http://doodlerescue.org/
Here is a link to their adoption guidelines which has a link to the adoption application: http://doodlerescue.org/forum/topics/information-for-anyone-interes....
Here is a helpful article on how to find a doodle on Petfinder and in shelters: http://doodlerescue.org/group/isadoodleforyou/forum/topics/looks-li...
GOOGLE shelters and humane societies within your driving range. Check their sites often.
Glad you posted these Nancy.
The Bichon poodle....can you please tell me the gender
Also the one you are showing in the parking lot with the young lady
Thank you
Michele, these dogs are in California.
I posted these as an example. Rescue Organizations have stringent requirements for their adopters. They take the time to understand the personality of the dog. They look for the best match for the dog. They aren't just given to the first person who comes along and asks, however shelters do. Someone wanting to adopt needs to be proactive. First they needs to make sure the rescue is reputable, then apply. At the same time frequently check all the shelters in the surrounding area for dogs that might be a fit for your family.
