Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Let's use the four weeks before the next romp to give us time to practice our "STAY!" with our Doodles. Lets see how many Doodles can pose for the group photo at our next romp SUNDAY APRIL 10TH. Teaching your dog to stay is very easy and doesn't take any time from your busy day. Start by having them wait "stay" for their dinner extending slowly from seconds to a minute. Then progress to having them "STAY" in one room while you go to another room to get something. Always reward them with a "goodgirl/boy!!" or treats. Make it fun for you and your best buddy.
Brunch: 11:30 AM to 1 PM 12430 Seal Beach Blvd. (behind Bamboo Grill).
Romp: 1 to 3 PM. Arbor Dog Park. 4665 Lampson (between Valley View & Seal Beach Blvd).
We do have more then 7 (+tail tip) that can STAY but this was the only photo I had from last month.

Calendared! Looks like we might still have CeCe too.
Jaxson and I were really hoping to make it to another doodle romp before we move so we could say good bye but it doesn't look like we will be able to make it. Big bummer!
We will be starting a new adventure and moving to Hawaii the beginning of May! We will miss the doodle friends we've made here but look forward to meeting new doodles in Hawaii soon!
I am in the process of making sure every i is dotted and every t is crossed to get Jaxson into Hawaii without being subject to quarantine. With the help of our knowledgeable vet, we should be good.
Aloha!
Yes! I will still be on DK for sure! We love Hawaii too (obviously)! We bought a house on the windward side of Oahu in Kaneohe. I was really hoping to make it to one more romp to see everyone but we will be in Hawaii on 4/10 taking possession of our house. I'll be sure to post pictures of Jaxson on the beach!
Janet, will you be teaching Jaxson to surf? We look forward to seeing your beach photos of Jaxson enjoying the ocean.
Ha, ha! But my husband is planning to teach Jaxson to sit on a paddleboard, though! I will be sure to post pics of Jaxson on the beach! He is not too fond of the water now but that will probably change. He does love to run on the sand. Aloha!
Janet, I have only been to Hawaii once, but I loved it so much, I am very envious of you and Jaxon.
I love Hawaii too! And I think Jaxson will too! (Once he gets there after riding on the plane in his crate for 6 hours. That is the hard part. I feel sorry for him.)
Janet, take Jaxon for a good hard run before his flight. I think you will be surprised how well he will take to the crate and flight. One breeder told me that when she went to get her puppy that flew all the way from Australia she was expecting the worst and the pup came out of it's crate with a "that was fun, what's next!" look.
Thanks for the tip and reassurance! We are actually going to stay in San Diego for a couple days before we fly to Honolulu. We are taking an Alaska Airlines flight that leaves mid morning so we'll have some time in the morning. We are planning on taking him to the San Diego Dog Beach the day before and letting him play there in addition to running him in the morning before the flight. We also already have the travel crate so we can get him used to it. Trying to think of everything! Will let you know how it goes!
Sounds like you are doing a super job of preparing Jaxon for his adventure. He'll love his create if you feed him in it.
That's a great idea. We did that when we first got him to get him used to his wire crate. But I think going back to feeding him in his new crate is a wonderful idea. Thanks!
