Hi all! Bogey is 9 months old. I work part time (two days a week. Dog walker comes on the days I work). He is crated whenever we are not at home and for bedtime. Yesterday when I came home from running errands, his beard was completely wet. I didn't see any throw up in his crate. Today, again after dropping the kids off to school and running errands I came home and his beard was soaking wet again. He's never had separation issues before and now two days in a row he's drooled excessively that it made his beard wet. Can this be separation anxiety or do you think something else?

Same thing happened to a dog I had years ago. He would drool so excessively in his cage that I decided to let him have free reign of a safe controlled area of the house when I was gone to see what happened. He was totally fine so long as he was not in the cage. I decided he was claustrophobic (call me crazy but it seemed that way at the time). He was around 8 months old at the time. Not saying this is the case with Bogey but maybe you could give it a try. I think my current doodle started to be trustworthy in the house around 10 or 11 months old. Every dog is different. Good luck!
Thank you! I've decided to get him checked out at the vet to be on the safe side. Realized he was drooling outside his crate too. I was finding puddles of drool on the floor which originally I thought was water.
Hope everything is ok with him. Please let us know.
There was no sign of injury to his mouth so we think maybe he ate a bug or got stung by a bee. Luckily, by Saturday morning he stopped drooling.

Glad to hear he has recovered.

Glad to hear everything is ok with Bogey!
