Molly is about 4mths and has jumped our baby gates.  We crate her when we aren't home, so we are supervising when she is gated in the kitchen.   I am just curious if this has happened to anyone else.  I am wondering if this means we may have a doodle that will be able to clear the fence eventually?    Who knows, after puppy kindergarten maybe flyball training, lol.

Doodles have really long legs! I wouldn't be surprised to see her doing flyball or even dock jumping!

My sister said she could be a possible dock jumper too.  She runs out of our kitchen and sails off the porch step when she is going to the back yard.  Who knows?  With being a double doodle she has the lab as well.  We haven't taken her to the water yet.  That will be interesting.

Wow...only 4 months and can already jump baby gates. It wouldn't surprise me if she will be able to jump a fence at some point. Annabelle really hates jumping and avoids it at all costs.

Riley can jump onto the kitchen table from a standing position or a 6 foot wall if he wishes too. Boris has a very long reach, he took six raw eggs out of a bowl at the back of the counter and ate them all without leaving a trace. These dogs are oh so smart and sometimes very agile. So you may well have one like mine too!

My Murphy can clear the Dutch door at the Groomers so I'm sure he could clear many fences.  The first time it happened the owner and I couldn't even believe that he could do it....no dog had ever done that.  The funny thing is that he won't even try to jump our baby gates because the one time he did it fell over and the sound scared him.  Now he won't go anywhere near it....so it works wonders when I want to keep him contained.

Boca once scaled our 6 foot fence after a squirrel.  We put up a trip wire all around and that seems to have done the trick (it's not a "hot" wire).  But only this last month or two has she learned how to jump our 3 foot tall baby gate.  Only if she's left alone, she won't do it if she's behind it and we are home.

Oddly, both of our doodles honor the baby gate height even though they and sail over them.  They honor the ex-pen too.  Our Springer had anxiety and would do anything to get to the 'other' side = jump, climb, knock over.

Riley fractured her back leg at 10 weeks and still climbed out of the ex-pen, splint and all, around 12 weeks. I was scared she'd get the splint stuck in the gates and be dangling there. They are definitely smart and resourceful!

Oh, poor Riley!  They are super smart and resourceful.

Our Moose did this too at 4 months so we had to buy really tall gates with poles and he has not jumped it yet. He looks like he is in jail because he sits by the gate door. lol

I just saw this on another site - you might be able to put a couple of these tension curtain rods on top of the gate to deter her.

Thanks everyone!
