I was thinking of trying the Seresto collar. We live in a suburban city with a large yard. There is a risk for ticks when we visit our property in the country which won't be very often. Has anyone tried this collar?

I used this last year and again this year.  My property backs up to  a state forest. Lots of ticks. I did not see one on my dogs last year and none so far this year. No problem with fleas either.

When Frontline and Advantix stopped working for us we switched to Comfortis. We recently moved to a house next to a state park and switched to the Seresto collar because we were concerned about ticks. So far, so good. Cocoa hated the taste of Comfortis, so it's also easier for us. She has had no skin irritation from the collar be we've seen no signs of fleas or ticks.
I've been contemplating this recently. I like the idea of slow release low dose. However my dog sleeps with us and we like to cuddle and snuggle in general. With the topical we are careful for the day or two after application, then just bath her. The collar is on 24/7. Here's what my vet said this month on her newsletter:
'The Seresto collar is great and it is cool polymer matrix technology that allows a low dose concentration to be released for 8 months as opposed to a monthly initial high dose that decreases over the 4 weeks. The collar is great as there is no greasy residue, no remembering to apply monthly and is very efficacious. I happily use it on my pets that sleep with us and stay tick free.'
So I'm not sure. A friend of a friend tapes theirs to the underside of the dogs regular collar which I thought was a novel idea.
