Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello Everyone.
I'm looking for as much information or to get in contact with anyone who's dog may have had a similar diagnosis to mine. My 2 year old girl has developed a tumour in her nerve on the right side of her head and unfortunately it's to close to her brain to be able to operate and they have only given her 6 months to live. We want to give her the best life we can in the short time we have. So any information or advice from anyone who has been through a similar experience or anyone who's dog has had the same diagnosis would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know anything about this, but I just wanted to offer my support to you....

I am so sorry for you and your precious dog.  I don't have any information for you, but want to send my love and support.

I'm so very sorry...you must be devastated.  I have no advice other than that each day with our Doodles is such a gift.

How scary, I'm so sorry about this.

I am very sorry to hear about your dog. I'm wondering if there Is a veterinary school anywhere near you where you can get the most specialized advice.
Hello. Yes thank you. It is a veterinary school we are dealing with but they have never really seen this before. It seems very rare especially in a dog so young so they are all a bit baffled by it themselves. Thank you for your message
Sorry to hear this to :-(
What did they call the tumor? Acoustic neuromas occur in people for instance.
The only way they can confirm what type of tumor it is would be to remove her eye and do a biopsy....it would only confirm to us the type of tumor she has. They still wouldn't be able to save her by doing this so we have obviously decided not to put her through this. It does seem to be very rare though and thats why I was looking for some advice
Given that they can't remove the tumor your decision is wise. Sadly I don't think anyone here will have much advice.

Carrie-Anne, My heart goes out to you. I just cannot fathom the depth of grief you are going through knowing you have only these sort months with your girl. I hope and pray that the days you have will be pain-free for your doodle and joy-filled for you and for her.

I am so very saddened by what you have told us; I recently lost my beloved labradoodle to lymphoma, so I totally appreciate how you must be feeling.  Do you have anywhere that you can get a second opinion?
