Why do my photos appear "wide"?

Hi! I just tried uploading some photos of Bob, and they all turned out very "stretched out wide." Same camera, same computer, etc. Has something changed on the website that I'm not aware of?  When I insert a photo into a discussion it doesn't happen. It only happens when I'm trying to add photos to my own slideshow. Anybody have a remedy for me?

I know they are making some changes to the website, but I think it has more to do with making it more mobile friendly. I haven't uploaded any photos lately so I can't tell you if it is just you or the site.

I haven't had any problems uploading photos as of a few days ago.

We haven't moved the site yet (it will be obvious when we do) so it is unrelated to that.  Are they up on your page?

So I see one that was stretched wide.  I wonder if sometimes the site tries to compensate for certain sized photos?  I don't really know, but I'll check into it.

The one that you saw stretched wide I uploaded a few months ago for the slideshow. (I don't think it ever made it into the slideshow). Today I uploaded 4 new ones of Bob and they were all stretched wide so I deleted them. I just uploaded them again, and they still look goofy. If you click on "View Full Size," they look fine.

Question Lori - Do you download your photos into a photo software program like photoshop, photo elements, or Picasa.  I think this may be caused when you use "windows photo viewer" and not a photo software program.  Just curious.

Nope- the pictures are taken on my iPhone and are downloaded directly in the Photos program on my Mac computer when I sync it with my iPhone. The weird thing is it's how I've always done it- nothing has changed on my phone or my computer. So, I'm not sure why it is happening now.

My photos are always distorted as well. They are taken on iPad and uploaded to site from iPad.
