We are about a month away from Yeti's next grooming appointment :). Last time he just got his face and butt trimmed up a little bit.  Its possible that he might actually need a full blown haircut this next time. My question is, is there such thing as a dog "haircut." I know people shave their dogs but I'm not looking for the shaved look at all. We would like to keep his hair on the longer side but not unmanageable.  I'm attaching a couple pictures of one of Yeti's brothers from a different litter. We want a happy medium between these pictures, however I'm not exactly sure how to word it.  I was hoping some one on here would have the same kind of cut for their doodle and know more of how to express it to the groomer.  Also i paged through several photos but I'm not exactly sure how to work all of the DK site yet so if anyone knows of someone who's dog has our desired cut would you pleas let me know?! :) :)

Thanks everyone so much!

Check my page- I typically groom Ragley to a medium between those at various points in the year. You can check out pics on instagram @ragleydoodledoo as well. Below is the link to my post I wrote after I groomed her for the first time with pictures included. Hope it helps!

Wow i thought i commented on this last night haha. Any who, i went straight to insta to see more pictures and turns out Yeti and i were already following you!! haha such a small world :) Ragley looks adorable with his hair medium lengths!

Take a look at the link below. It is a step by step sheet you can take to your groomer. I used this when Jaxson got his first full groom and then again when I had to find a new groomer when we moved. You might also want to take pictures of dogs whose cuts you like. Maybe about 1-1/2 inches all over might be a good start. Be sure to post pics after his cut!

Thank you SO much for linking this to me :)

I gave Bert a cut using a 1" clipper comb over his whole body and the top of his head, and it looks like it's somewhere in between the 2 pictures that you posted...

Heather ~ nice job.  Bert is a very handsome boy!

He looks fantastic :)

First of all, if you get a scissor cut you won't end up with a shave like Ramen. I thought he looked great in the first pic.  Go through the photos here and find a doodle that has a coat similar to Yeti's (not the color but the texture and amount of curl) and looks like you wish. Pull it onto your computer or print it or put it on your phone - whatever.  Take it with you.  Personally, I'd find several and print them up using Shutterfly or wherever you print photos and take them to the groomer.  You could get a doodlekisses calendar and take that and show the groomer.  A picture is worth a thousand words.

Thank ya thank ya thank ya! I'm going to just have to stalk everyones photos on here :)

I love that second photo - I giggled for 5 minutes - he is so cute!

He is SOOO cute!! I became obsessed with him (I found him on Instagram) so I contacted his owners about breeder info.  We drove all the way to Dallas for him (from WI) and I could not be happier :)
