anyone give nuvet wafers?

My breeder said to give puppy a nuvet wafer everyday. Wondered if anybody has used this product. Seems to me that his food has all the nutrients and vitamins he would need. 

Input would be appreciated.

Others may have direct experience with Nuvet. From the research I did when getting my puppy, breeders often have a business relationship with Nuvet and are paid a referral fee for clients that follow the recommendation to purchase supplements. On that basis alone we personally chose not to use Nuvet. The only one we do give is PlaqueOff which keeps teeth clean in conjunction with raw bones and bully sticks.

If your dog is eating a good quality food (any of those on our recommended list), he doesn't need any additional vitamin or mineral supplements. Period. 

Nuvet products are sold through a multilevel marketing program (MLM) otherwise known as a "pyramid scheme". It's the same company that sells Life's Abundance dog food. We have many discussions here about this. Your breeder and many, many other people make commissions every time you order the products. It's also a nightmare to cancel once you are signed up for autoship through them. 

The products are way, way overpriced because all those commissions are built into them, and there is no transparency about sourcing or ingredients. Save your money.

Thank you! I had a feeling about this when the breeder pushed the life's abundance food and nutvet wafers. I switched over to orijen right away and he is doing great.

Hi Lori,  I gave my 9 month old pup NuVet wafer and he got liquid poop immediately.  I called the company and they told me that was supposed to happen, cleaning out his system, duh!!  I sent it back and am waiting a full refund, which they told me I would get.   Having said that, Chappie does have a sensitive stomach, and many rich dog foods do the same thing, Origen being one of them.   He is very happy and healthy without supplements, so I am going to not give them.  Dee
