Gassy Puppy

Hi All! I need some help! I have a 6 month old Goldendoodle. He has THE WORST gas! I feed him nothing but Merrick Grain-Free puppy food, no scraps and one grain free biscuit a day. My 3.5 year old Labradoodle never had gas like this as a puppy. Could it just be he isn't compatible with Merrick? Or is this just a Goldendoodle puppy thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know from my own experience, but I have heard that lower quality foods can cause gas. I think Purina bought out Merrick, so that may or may not be the cause. There might be something in the food causing it though. Annabelle loves broccoli, but man does it give her gas.

I'm sad! I just researched this.... Now I have to find new dog food. Well at least I am at the right time in my supply to switch...Thanks for the heads up, anything you would reccommend? I had my labradoodle on Wellness simple for a while, but she just decided she hated it one day. Willing to try anything that isn't chicken based. Gonna do some more research and see but anything you are aware of would be helpful. Thanks!

Chip gets terrible gas if he chews a rawhide. This only has happened in the last year or so but now whenever he gets one, it's bad. Every dog is a little different but maybe there's some ingredient in that food that is setting your pup off.

Bella gets HORRIBLE gas when she eats Frosty Paws. It lasts for about a day and then goes away. But I agree with the others, that it might be the food.
