Tara received a bag of Odor Free, thin, Bully Sticks from Best Bully Sticks yesterday and there were bugs in the bag with the sticks. I spoke with customer service today and they said the bugs "probably got there during transit".  What???  I'm not sure if they meant the transit from the source to them or from them to me. I know I can't even get into the bag without scissors!  Anyhow, they are sending a replacement bag which I will be examining closely before opening. They also asked for the Lot Number so they will be doing some in-house investigation as well apparently.

Just wanted to give you a heads up about it if you do business with Best Bully Sticks. I have purchased bullies from them for years with no issues so it's not a common problem and I will continue to use their service but right now there may be an issue. So take a peek!!

Good idea!!

It WOULD make a great blog! And then you would be surprised, or not, to discover what a big role Fudge and Vern played in this story! LOL

I do need a blog theme and I can embellish just a tad when needed :)

A tad?

LOL

Yikes. My dogs no longer get bully sticks because they upset their stomachs. I loved them when my dogs were puppies. Sorry this happened to you. Nobody wants buggy bull penises :)

Thanks Laurie, I'm sorry your doodles had to give them up. Since it's the household theme perhaps they would do better with moose penises?

ROTFL....those poor moose...walking around with no penises :)

Yeah, and who's going to volunteer for that job? lol

Bully sticks were really a godsend when the doodles were puppies, but we no longer need to use them.  I am glad they were responsive and are replacing the bully sticks. I really preferred Red Barn brand over BBS, but they are also more expensive.

And a lot of Red Barn's chews are imported from China, or at least they used to be. You really have to be careful with that brand.

Linda, I checked out the Red Barn sticks and they are sourced from Paraguay. The sticks we are currently buying from BBS are from Brazil. Both talk about the cattle being free range and grass fed but....after seeing Brazil during the Olympics...not so excited about buying things from that country any more! Especially edibles. And now that I know they are prone to bugs perhaps they are sprayed in transit??? Who knows. We will be going with the USA sourced from now on. We received the replacement bag yesterday and it was bug free, whew!
