I changed my mind on the puppy

It just didn't feel right.  

The breeder won't refund my deposit even though he's only had it for 5 days.  Money is the root of all evil I guess.

Thanks for adding me for the short time I was here.

Hi Sam&Bella - No, probably not.  We need something much smaller.  I should have known that from the get go.

Havanese look just like doodle and are small. There are some really small doodles as well but it's a bit of a crap shoot.

Havanese are very sweet, affectionate dogs, and the size and non-shedding are guaranteed. And they are bred in every color under the sun; solids, partis, brindles, you name it. And it's much easier to find  reputable breeders, too, through the local AKC breed clubs.

If it doesn't feel right you are making a wise decision. If at some point you do get a doodle come and join us again. Of course you don't have to leave you, can always be a lurker. The danger in that is it may lead to puppy fever when all those cute puppy pictures surface.

It is too bad about your deposit, but I am glad that you listened to your inner voice. Too often we ignore it. As for small dogs I have met a few Bichons that have lovely personalities.

Update on the deposit - after having to get a little "grumpy" with my messages to the breeder, he has agreed to refund my deposit.  My point was it had only been 5 days.  The puppies are only 1 week old and I highly doubt he is going to have a hard time finding that lovely puppy a forever home.  If it had been weeks I could see his point.  Anyway - a friend of mine just happened to have a Maltese that is ready to go home tomorrow!  This must be fate.  I met him this afternoon and fell in love with him.  He's a peanut and adorable, more my "speed".  :)  I'm so happy but am not prepared At All so it's off to the pet store first thing in the morning.  Wish me luck and thanks everyone for your kindness in this brief period of time.
