Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi! This is Charlie, and he's a mini f1b goldendoodle. His dad is a miniature poodle, and his mom is a 30 pound f1 goldendoodle. However, his mom has the retriever look and you would never know by looking at her that she has any poodle in her. So far, charlie is 14 1/2 weeks old and he weighs 15.5 pounds. His weight range is supposed to be 20-25 pounds, but I think he'll for sure be 30-40. What do you guys think? Does anybody have a doodle with this coloring as a puppy, and a pic of what they look like now? Do you think his fur will stay shaggy/waivy, fleece-like as it is not? Thanks for the input!

Well, Charlie is 10 1/2 months now and about 36-37 pounds!! I think he's about to gain a couple more pounds though, he just got a little skinnier which used to happen before he gained a few pounds. He's getting heavier and heavier to pick up!!

Looking for squirrels in the park, I think around 7 months:

Now at 10 months!

He's been the best puppy! He's amazing with other dogs and people, he can hold his own at the dog park (he'll wrestle with an 80 pound doodle, yet be delicate with a little boston terrier), he listens well, he's been roaming the house while we're away since he was 4 months old, and he's never destroyed anything or had a potty accident. His coat is very easy to maintain! He's never matted, and he's only groomed every 8 weeks. I'm obsessed with this boy!!! :)

This is wonderful to learn that at 10 months Charlie still did not mat.  I've been wondering if the coat change automatically causes matting.  Please keep the good news coming!

Thanks!! He's now 14 months old- crazy how time flies!! He still has a very easy coat to maintain. His last haircut was May 14th, and I got him cut short for summer so I didn't have to worry about him getting wet and air drying with long fur (which does cause tangles, but is easy to avoid). His fur is probably about 3-4 inches now, and is just entering the matting zone lol. At this length I have to brush him about twice a week to make sure there aren't any matts. I brushed him last night for the first time in about a week, and only found 2 small ones that I was able to get out with my fingers quickly. He's getting his haircut this Sunday, so it was timed perfectly! I'll probably go down to 1.5 inches. This picture is him 16 days ago, so it's grown out more since the. I actually went out of town Wednesday to Sunday, and when I picked him up from my parents house Sunday, it looked like his fur grew an inch while I was gone! lol

It looks as if his fur turned curly?

He continues to be gorgeous.
Thank you!!! :)

I have to say he is SOOO adorable!

Thank you!!! :) He's definitely curly, but just the right amount! He's what I call shaggy curly- he doesn't have any tight curls. His sides and his chest are kind of straight / wavy - they just stick right out! haha. His facial furnishings are straight as well, which I like. His afro is super fun- it's kind of in between wavy and curly. It's super soft!! I think he has the perfect F1b coat! He definitely doesn't look like a poodle, but has a good curl here and there!

That's awesome... He is soo cute!

What does he weigh now? My puppy-almost 7 months- doesn't shed either-I'm trying to avoid the first full cut till next summer. He is over 50lbs and a HUGE FUR BALL!

Oh wow, he's so big!!! Charlie's about 37 pounds! He's actually quite short though- he looks proportional, but he's just built more short and muscular. He's still lean, but kind of solid at the same time? Does that make sense? hah! He never went through that "my legs are too long for my body" phase. My friend's 24 pound doodle is the same height as him, just super tiny! It makes him stronger I think- he's not delicate. He can doodle wrestle with the 80 pound doodles and hold his own!

Charlie is gorgeous.  You are so lucky to have an easy-to-manage one.
