Frequent Groomer Discount

Okay Here is a dirty secret I've learned.  Many groomers will offer you a steep discount if you bring your dog frequently.  

My groomer said every two weeks and the per groom price drops from $75-$80 to about $30-$35.   This includes a bath and hair trim.  It cost the same for you but your dog is better taken care of and is used to visiting the groomer's.  Most shops do open fairly early ie 7pm prior to work and you can pick them up after work.  My groomer also offer complimentary daycare for those who get groomed so $30-$35 every two weeks is a steal. I just thought to share this info for those who didn't know.  I've learned this from a doodle pal who goes to a different groomer and so I asked my groomer about it and she confirmed. Also groomers offer multi-pet discounts if you have more than one pet. 

I kinda liked this idea but I'm gonna try to groom my dog on my own first because I already ordered a new set of clippers.  I just thought this info was good to share.

My groomer charges $35-$40. We go every 4 - 6 weeks so they aren't horribly matted. I think that is her regular price unless the dog is horribly matted. but perhaps we are getting a reduced price.  I LOVE my groomer.

Groomers have expenses like the rest of us. To groom a doodle properly I use to 2 pairs of clippers, up to 4 differ blades, attachment combs,3 to 4 pairs of shears, brush, comb, nail clippers, shampoo, conditioner, high velocity blow dryer, hydraulic table, grooming space that is rented, liability insurance, health insurance and I need food for energy, and place the sleep at night. If you are getting a discount, that is great but please consider the value of the work and time. 0

Just had my first real doodle groom a few days ago and you are right it is a lot of work. I would probably never do a doodle for $45 because it took me almost 4 hours- split into 3 days. I know a lot of groomers don't take doodles or standard poodles and now I understand.
