Ava loves the big bed. Let's face it, the bed is hers. And if I ask reeeeeealy nicely she will give me 6 inches to lay on too. But I wish someone spoke dog and could explain to her that turning herself into a 5000 pound rock and refusing to let me have even enough of the covers to cover myself up with is kind of stingy. 

Eating breakfast and then going out to potty is just exhausting! (I won the battle of the covers this time, but it was a struggle!)

Sweet Ava, do you think you could teach JD to love the big bed? I'd willingly give up the covers if he'd snuggle with me!

You say that now, but just wait until you're huddled freezing on the edge of the bed with not even a corner of a blanket available! 

Ava is a great snuggler. She likes to be close, but she generally gives me enough space to roll over. Katie generally sleeps on the pillow next to me, or down at the corner so there's no room for my feet. She isn't super snuggly unless it's really cold. 

Maybe I'm weird but I've always had enforced bed sleeping. Sometimes I think Katie would like to sleep on the kitchen floor where it's cool, but if she gets down I have to get up and put her back in the bed. I can't sleep without them anymore.

I think Ava could totally talk to JD. It took her about 3.2 seconds to figure out that the big bed is the place to be!

I am always amazed at how much they own us, we frequently postpone going to the bathroom rather than disturb the girls off of our laps...always grateful to know we are not the only ones.

Oh, they totally own me! There are a lot of moments when I wonder who is smarter - and who is really in charge! I mean, they've got the life. They don't have to go to work. Sometimes I would trade them! But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh, this sounds so familiar!  But Tara is a mini so I only have a 2500 pound rock! I have to say there have been times when I admitted defeat and got up to grab another blanket for myself. :)  It is heartwarming to see Ava doing so well and winning the battle for the covers!!

She is a princess for sure, and someone told her that she's a princess, so she is doing her best to live up to it! Katie's a mini too, and I've been known to just pick her up and move her over. I'm not asking her to get down or go a bad spot or even a less desirable spot. I just want to get in too! She is doing really well. I think she knows she's safe and loved and the owner of the bed.

[BG and Gavin]

Gavin is not allowed in bed but still manages to steal all of the covers. He plants himself at the end of the bed on the floor and gradually over the course of the night he manages to pull down the covers and lay on top of them. By morning I have shimmied down to the bottom of the bed chrunched in a ball trying to keep my torso covered. All 6'5" 0f DH is scrunched down beside me.

That is hysterical! You might be better off with Gavin in the bed. I don't have to worry about the covers leaving the bed. It's just getting underneath them that's a struggle.
