Today at the store I found a beef marrow bone!! I know some of you give these to your dogs and I was wondering if they are a good thing to let your dog chew on or not. It was only a couple of dollars so if it's not such a good thing I won't be out a lot of money. Are these these the ones that you cook or boil? Just figured we would try something new for yeti!

Lots of discussions in The Food Group about beef marrow bones. Here's a good one:

Marrow Bones with Pictures and Instructions

My pups LOVE beef marrow bones. My only caution is making sure the opening is small enough that the bone cannot get hooked over the lower jaw. That happened and when we could not remove it we were heading to our emergency vet at 10pm for them to sedate and remove the bone. They told us this happens all the time! So make sure the opening cannot slip over their lower jaw. If the bone is long enough and a small enough opening then you are all set.

I have our butcher cut them if the ones in the meat case are too long and then I freeze them. We have all the old ones in a basket that they still chew on. We have never had an issue with splintering or breaking.
