Has anyone had trouble with sebaceous glands overgrowing on their back? My doodle is 4 and has had several.

Are we talking about sebaceous cysts? My Poodle got them occasionally, they're harmless.

I thought so. Just wondered if you ever had them removed or if they got really large.

My doodle has had two sebaceous cysts and they both ruptured on their own. I think they only remove them if they are causing problems.

Haley had one on top of his head which his vet removed.  One on his leg which never got big and disappeared on its own.  The last was on his side.  He ended up with what appeared to be a hot spot which didn't respond to treatment.  I took him back to the vet and upon further inspection she found a S.B. which she aspirated.

Thanks for the information! I didn't know if my doodle was the only one that got them!!

Our Springer had them. He needed antibiotics.

Picco had one on his leg which was getting big so we had it removed.

Thanks for replying. Was it frozen off or surgically removed?

Surgically.  It appeared fast, got larger than a pea. It was on the lower part of his leg so really noticeable to the touch.

Lucy has had two that burst on their own.  Very nasty when they do and requires antibiotics, but mostly harmless.

Wow! Hope they are ok now. Yes they seem to be harmless. Thanks!
