I'm Twelve Years Old! By Jackdoodle

This past Monday was my 12th birthday! 

In the morning, Mom and I took a nice long walk. In the afternoon, I had my physical therapy appointment, like I do every Monday. (I have a herniated disc in my back, and my back end is not so strong, plus I can't always tell where my feet are, so I do exercises to help me with that.) I like therapy, I always get lots of treats when I'm doing my exercises!

This week, my very favorite therapist Emily, who got promoted to facility coordinator (whatever that means) and hardly ever works with me any more, had cleared her schedule so she could work with me on my birthday! I was so happy to see her! She and Dani (who I also like a lot) made a big fuss when I came in!

Here I am on the wobble board; it helps me with my balance and with shifting my weight from my front feet to my back feet: 

This is my favorite exercise, because I can do it all by myself! It helps me remember to pick up my feet instead of scuffing them. 

After my therapy appointment, we went home. We couldn't take an afternoon walk, because it was raining, but Mom played ball indoors with me, and then she fixed me a very special birthday dinner. She cooked all my favorites, salmon and chicken and lima beans and green beans and roasted sweet potatoes, and mixed them all together into a delicious birthday stew! Yum!!!

That night, we took another walk and played some more ball. I slept great that night!
And that's how I spent my 12th birthday!

You are one of our favorite friends, Jack.  Happy Birthday.  We think the wobble board might be scary, but stepping over those boards looks fun.  We wish our mom or dad would cook us such a yummy dinner.  Maybe we will come for a dinner visit.
