Razor burn

We took yeti to get groomed yesterday and it appears that he got a little razor burn around his genitals and now he won't stop licking. I know I need to take him to the vet if this continues however I won't be able to until Saturday morning is there anything I can give him or put on it in the meantime?

If he does lick a little of it will it make him sick?

I don't think so. But when I treat developing hot spots for instance I use triple antibiotic cream, cover the area with gauze and wrap wit self adhesive elasticize do wrap. It has always been effective. For what you are describing a couple of days of treatment should suffice. Keeping him from licking for a few minutes will allow most of the cream to absorb into the skin.

Just wanted to say on top of the cream, I had put a boxer on Cooper so he doesn't lick himself.  This happened to him a couple of months ago.  I told the groomer about it, and they made sure not to trim him that short in his butt area ever again.  It took about a week for Cooper to recover from it.  Hope Yeti will feel better soon!
