My doggies are a being bad and occaisionally getting hold of a couple ornaments off the tree and ripping them up. What are some good ideas to help stop this?  Does bitter apple spray work?

I never had much luck with the apple bitter spray but did find an effective method for dealing with the tree mischievousness - we filled a metal/tin container (that had a lid) with lots of loose change. Any time Teddy approached the tree with a twinkle in his eye, we rattled that tin like the dickens and gave a firm "leave it." Now I will say that Teddy is pretty timid, but this seemed to work like a charm and to this day (he's 2 1/2) he really hasn't bothered the tree/ornaments. Maybe this will work for you:) Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the suggestion!I tried the rattle can and its working well.

Any time I'm not able to supervise, my tree is protected by an x-pen!!

That is what we have always done for new dogs too.

We used the supergate xt -  about 30 inches high and 6 feet in diameter.  One of doodles never bothered the tree the second was so enthralled with the snowmen ornaments it was impossible to keep him from it or the present.  We had to use the x-pen for Christmas two years.  After he turned 2, no more problems.  Yeah.
