Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Our F1 doodle is the first puppy I've raised since we normally rescue old fogies so there are a few things I don't know much about. Lately, we've noticed a few dried up red spots on our tiles and we aren't sure if these could be related to a first heat cycle or our mess of a toddler. When did your doodles have their first heat, particularly standards, and what did you do to make it go more smoothly? She is currently 11 months old and on the smaller side compared to what we were anticipating with her being a standard.

We were recommended to wait until she was about 18 months old so that she was

Well, it seems to be her first heat! Wooo...

Brooke, You need to keep her away from ALL unknown dogs.  You can't tell if they are male or female or which ones are intact.  Especially when you notice she moves her tail to the side of her butt.  Your female will also leave a trail of  her scent that serious stud dogs will follow to your house.
