I know this is gross - but poop matting around puppy pooper...

Wondering if this is common due to type of fur...but our little guy is 11 weeks and twice has Ahmad poop matted around his butt hole and made it difficult for him to poop the next time. We had to soak him in the tub to clean it it out...anybody else deal with this?

Yes, we had many times that this happened to our puppy when we first got her.   She is now 13 months old and not only do we keep the fur trimmed in that area but after starting to feed her a little sweet potato every evening for dinner we have not had that problem.  Some people on this chain may have a problem with that...I am not sure.  But a friend of mine does the same thing for her Labradoodle and we learned from her!  Feel free to add your thoughts to this...kindly, please.

It happens, just trim his rear end.

It's called a sanitary cut.

Hi

Does he have loose poops? Doodles have a tendency to have there fur grow into and around the poop shoot. Hence, the term sanitary clipping. I have a small mustache battery operated clipper and I keep Turbo's butt shaved this way no poop gets stuck and the hair doesn't grow into his butt.
