Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi everyone,
I finally picked my doodle out and I couldn't be happier :) she is so tiny and cute I can't wait till she comes home! I'm just wondering did anyone have an F1b goldendoodle look like her when they were 4 weeks? I would love to see pictures! Also, any name ideas and tips on taking her home (it will be a long drive) I want her to be comfortable not scared! Thanks everyone :)

We have a F1 goldendoodle. He is now 7 months old. I attached a picture when we got him and a picture of him now.

Adorable !!  Don't forget you can use the IMAGE icon (2nd from Far Left) to insert the pics directly into your post.

Thanks for the tip, posted from my phone.

He is adorable Sally.

I love the name Fiona and Olivia for girls Piper, Pepper and Athena.. I have to stop I have a million names. My baby looks similar to yours and her name is Jinger Leigh. She comes home in two weeks.

Oh my goodness she is so cute and already has curls, we almost got one that looks just like that but lighter, but I really like how the one we picked was darker. I hear they get lighter as they age? I'm not sure how true that is, but I've seen some photos where they look white at age 1. Is yours f1b? I think i'm going to have to meet her in person before I decide on a name because I have so many I like.

She is adorable.  You can see the tale-tell chrysanthemum  on the muzzle which denotes future facial furnishings. Congratulations on your pick.  Look in the Puppy Madness group for discussions on bringing the pup home.  Some people have used a crate, some not.  Be sure to bring towels, paper towels, poop bags and cleaner.  I advise a change of pants for you if you are going to hold her in your lap - just in case! :-}   We tried a crate for Ned but he wasn't having it, so he mostly slept on a beach towel crumpled on the floor behind the passenger seat (it is still his favorite place to ride) or in my lap.  We stopped for potty breaks at industrial areas with a grassy strip.  Don't take her for potty breaks where many other dogs have been - eating areas, gas stations etc.

Name ideas:  Places or things you love, human names.  I like color and jewel names a lot - like Pink or Garnet. Before you make your final choice, say the name out loud - picture yourself calling her to come inside or at a dog park. Is the name too much?  Does it sound acceptable - example, our first rescue came to us with the name Buck which is a great name until you picture yourself yelling, "Buck, Off" when correcting his jumping on others at a dog park. :-}

Thank you, that is very helpful advice! I am however confused as to what you mean by "tale-tell chrysanthemum  on the muzzle which denotes future facial furnishings." does that mean she will be curly? I don't know much about how to tell what their coats will be.

"Buck, off" made me laugh out loud :) I will have to let you know what I end up naming her!

We were at the shelter adopting Clancy and when they said his name was Buck, the first thing that popped into my mind was what Buck could be construed as - and that is never a word that comes out of either my husband or my mouth!

The chrysanthemum is this:
