Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Recently my 4.5 month old doodle has been hiding and napping behind the couch. Sometimes when I see she's awake back there I call her "Zara, Come!" and she just looks at me. I'm 100% sure she knows her name and the "come" command. Anyone else seen this behavior? I've always done positive reinforcement training with her and the only other people she has been with is my fiancé and the dog walker, which I watch the dog walker on a camera and I do trust her so there's no reason for her to be fearful or anything like that. Just wonder if this is odd behavior to spend hours a day behind the couch and not respond when I call her. She did not do this the first 2 months home and just started a few weeks ago.

Thank you for letting me know this may be normal. Zara was also attached at my hip for the first two months so when she started doing this I thought it was out of character. I'd estimate it's about 4 hours per day and about an hour or so at a time.
Doodles do have a mind of their own and mine sometimes will want to just chill somewhere, but if I persist on calling him, he will come over and snuggle - we lovingly refer to this as "pet duty," lol. The only other time he has done that sort of thing is when he was not feeling good - like a yeast infection in his ear.
I'm considering taking her in just for a checkup to make sure everything is okay. She did actually have a yeast infection in her ear which has been treated and went away about a month ago. The only other thing I can think of is she has been teething and lost 8 teeth recently and all the adult teeth are currently coming in.
Thank you!
She did have the rabies vaccination around that time. I'll have to look this up. So its a side effect?
Thanks
One of my doodles loves to squeeze himself behind the couch for a nap.
